This has been put into effect by the Lilongwe City
Council (LCC) effective today, a preventive measure against the spread
of the coronavirus.
In a statement, the LCC Chief Executive Officer John
Chome, encourages tailors to make many masks and sell at the entrance
gates of all markets.
According to Chome, the Council is currently following
up on over 500 suspected coronavirus cases in collaboration with the
District Health Office.
Malawi has so far registered a total of 70 confirmed
cases, in which 40 are active cases, 27 have recovered and three people
have died.
