Parliament finally sets June 23 as the date for the fresh elections

 

Parliament has finally set June 23 as the date for the fresh elections, amid protests from the government side.
The motion for setting the Presidential Elections date was moved by Mzimba North MP Yeremia Chihana and seconded by Lilongwe Mpenu MP, Eisenhower Mkaka.
Meanwhile, DPP MPs have chased First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Madalitso Kazombo out of the House. This comes after Parliament adopted Msukwa's motion to gazette the date for the fresh election.
