Suspected thief beaten to death in Balaka
Suspected thief has been beaten to death by an angry mob after being caught red-handed attempting to steal a solar panel on the roof of the house.
Balaka Police Deputy Spokesperson Precious Makuta confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Makuta, the owner of the house shouted for help when he saw the man on the roof of his house.
Members of the community reacted swiftly and apprehended the suspect and they started beating him to death.
Makuta identified the deceased as Christopher Kakhoza.
Postmortem results indicated that the death was due to severe loss of blood and multiple head injuries.
