Velvex hand sanitisers for non-compliance with the minimum alcohol requirement and labeling standards

Velvex hand sanitisers have been banned and recalled by the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) for non-compliance with the minimum alcohol requirement and labeling standards. As the product is available in Malawi, the country’s Competition and Fair Trading Commission (CFTC) has recalled Velvex hand sanitisers from the local market.
The CFTC Executive Director, James Kaphale, said in a statement that local traders are therefore urged to recall the products and refund consumers who bought them, or risk facing the law. “The commission is advising consumers to critically check material information on hand sanitisers before purchasing or using them,” the statement reads in part.
In April this year, the Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) received locally made samples of hand sanitisers for testing to check conformity with standards, having noted that there has been an influx of various types of hand sanitizers on the market. MBS released a statement outlining that the tests were made to protect consumers from substandard and health-risk products. Being satisfied, MBS approved some companies to produce hand sanitizers, namely Ethanol Company Limited, KenChem, Kadora Enterprises, Purity Sanitary Products Company Limited and Charma Chemicals and Distributors.

North Korean orders to Hand over their dogs to be used as Meat

Kim Jong-Un, the Supreme Leader of North Korea, has ordered that pet dogs in Pyongyang be rounded up – and owners are fearful that their beloved pets are being used to solve the nation’s food shortages.

This comes after he announced in July that owning a pet is now against the law and declared that pet dogs are a symbol of capitalist “decadence”.

“Authorities have identified households with pet dogs and are forcing them to give them up or forcefully confiscating them and putting them down”, a source told South Korea’s Chosun Ilbo newspaper.

“Some of the dogs are sent to state-run zoos or sold to dog meat restaurants,” the source added.

Korea’s Chosun Ilbo newspaper reported that pet owners are “cursing Kim Jong-un behind his back” but there is little they can do since refusal to comply attracts grave consequences.

A recent UN report stated that as many as 60 percent of North Korea’s 25.5 million people are facing “widespread food shortages” that have been worsened by international sanctions imposed on the regime for its nuclear missile programmes.

Dog meat has long been considered a delicacy on the Korean Peninsula, although the tradition of eating dogs is gradually fading out in South Korea.

Mali’s president resigns after being detained by soldiers, dissolves parliament

Mali’s President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta has resigned, after being detained by soldiers on Tuesday, state TV reports.
In a televised address, Mr Keïta said he was also dissolving the government and parliament.
“I want no blood to be spilled to keep me in power,” he added.
It comes hours after he and Prime Minister Boubou Cissé were taken to a military camp near the capital Bamako, drawing condemnation from regional powers and France.
“If today, certain elements of our armed forces want this to end through their intervention, do I really have a choice?” said Mr Keïta.
“I hold no hatred towards anyone, my love of my country does not allow me to,” he added. “May God save us.”
Earlier, the mutinying soldiers took control of the Kati camp.
There has been anger among troops about pay and over a continuing conflict with jihadists – as well as widespread discontent with the former president.
Mr Keïta won a second term in elections in 2018, but there has been anger over corruption, the mismanagement of the economy and the rise of communal violence in areas of the country.
It has prompted several large protests in recent months.
A new opposition coalition led by the conservative Imam, Mahmoud Dicko, has called for reforms after rejecting concessions from Mr Keïta, including the formation of a unity government.
What do we know about the mutiny?
It was led by Col Malick Diaw – deputy head of the Kati camp – and another commander, Gen Sadio Camara, BBC Afrique’s Abdoul Ba in Bamako reports.
After taking over the camp, about 15km (nine miles) from Bamako, the mutineers marched on the capital, where they were cheered by crowds who had gathered to demand Mr Keïta’s resignation.
On Tuesday afternoon they stormed his residence and arrested the president and his prime minister – who were both there.
The president’s son, the speaker of the National Assembly, the foreign and finance ministers were reported to be among the other officials detained.
The number soldiers taking part in the mutiny is unclear.
Kati camp was also the focus of a mutiny in 2012 by soldiers angry at the inability of the senior commanders to stop jihadists and Tuareg rebels taking control of northern Mali.
What has the reaction been to his detention?
When news first broke of the mutiny, the United Nations and African Union both called for the release of those held by the soldiers.
The Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas), a regional body, also said its 15 member states had agreed to close their borders with Mali, suspend all financial flows to the country, and eject Mali from all of Ecowas’ decision-making bodies. In recent months, Ecowas has a key mediator between Mr Keïta’s government and opposition groups.
The UN Security Council is to meet on Wednesday to discuss the latest developments in Mali.
Mali’s former colonial ruler, France, was also quick to condemn the president’s detention, and Foreign Minister Jean Yves Le Drian urged the soldiers to return to barracks. Mali is a key base for French troops fighting Islamist insurgents across the Sahel region.

17 Kenyans Are Arrested Over Witchcraft Allegations

Kenyan Police have arrested seventeen people who they claim to have been practising witchcraft.
A police report, seen by Nairobi News, revealed that the 17, who were driving inside four vehicles, made a prayer outside a primary school and broke a port that contained soil in it.
The registration numbers of the five motor vehicles were concealed and it took the effort of the police to uncover them.
“Members of the public from Katheri sub-location had blocked 4 motor vehicles at Ngunyumu primary school who were strangers, about 20km south of the post, whose numbers were concealed and at that, they suspected them of witchcraft practices after the occupants of the said vehicles made prayers and then broke a port containing soil in front of Ngunyumu primary school gate,” the statement read in part.
The vehicle’s registration numbers were uncovered and identified as a Toyota Harrier registration number KCC 779K, a Toyota Harrier KCQ 003C, Toyota Prado registration number KBT 413Y and a Toyota 110 registration number KAQ 335T.
Police officers under the command of a senior officer identified as chief inspector Osman rescued the occupants of the cars.
Further investigations revealed that the 17 are members of Kenya Assembly of God church in Kagio and Restoration End Time Church Embu.
The vehicles are held by the police.

High court in Blantyre hearing of parliamentary elections case

High court in Blantyre on Tuesday finished hearing a parliamentary elections case where some three individuals are challenging results of the 2019 elections in Chikwawa and Nsanje districts.
Parties to the case have since been given forty days starting the same Tuesday to make final their submissions.
One of lawyers for the respondents, Wester Kossam, says court will determine when judgment will be delivered.
“We have finished cross-examining the Electoral Commission’s witness who was ICT supervisor in Nsanje district. We have failed to cross examine the former district commissioner for Nsanje because he is sick,” said Kossam.
Kossam commended the court for ensuring justice prevails in the matter by resuming the case under COVID-19 preventive measures.
“The court said only a few of us should converge in court. Because of that idea, we have come to the end of the case after taking a long time.
“Had it not been for the idea, then the matter would have dragged for so long and it wouldn’t have been good for both parties,” he said.
In the case, Foster Thipiwa, Enock Chizuzu and Kafandikhale Mandevana are challenging the results where the Electoral Commission declared Esther Mcheka Chilenje, Francis Kasaila and Sam Khumbanyiwa winners in their respective constituencies.

Mali president resigns after military mutiny

Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita announced around midnight on Tuesday that he is resigning from his post saying that he does not wish blood to be shed following a military mutiny that plunged the country into a political crisis.
"Today, certain parts of the military have decided that intervention was necessary. Do I really have a choice? Because I do not wish blood to be shed," Keita said in a brief statement broadcast on national television.
Keita said that he has decided "to give up my duty from now on."
It is unclear if the military is now officially in charge of the country.
Earlier, Keita and Prime Minister Boubou Cisse were detained by soldiers in a dramatic escalation of a months-long crisis in the country.
The development came hours after soldiers took up arms and staged a mutiny at a key base in Kati, a town close to Bamako.
The soldiers were expected to deliver a statement later, while countries in West Africa, along with former colonial power France, the European Union and the African Union, denounced the actions of the soldiers and warned against any unconstitutional change of power.
The events came amid a weeks-long political crisis that has seen opposition protesters taking to the streets to demand the departure of Keita, accusing him of allowing the country's economy to collapse and mishandling a worsening security situation.
Mali's years-long conflict, in which ideologically-motivated armed groups have stoked ethnic tensions while jockeying for power, has spilled into the neighbouring countries of Niger and Burkina Faso, destabilising the wider Sahel region and creating a massive humanitarian crisis.

Upon realizing she was being traced by local administration, she hit the road, leaving the kids behind.

Here Are Ways to Naturally Enlarge Male Organ

Many men are insecure about the size of their penis but fear not, there are ways you can enlarge your penis, naturally.

Not all men are blessed in the pen!s department.

In fact, more men are unhappy with the size of their member than those that are satisfied.

Whilst there is no magic cure, there are ways to get some extra growth/girth and get you feeling better down there.

At some point in time in their lives, men have had their fair share of insecurities regarding the size of their penis unless of course. A lot of men often wonder if they are big enough to satisfy their woman. These insecurities can drastically affect the confidence and lead to depression and low self-esteem.

The average penis

The average penis size according to researchers as per world’s standards is estimated at 5.1 inches. And anything less than 4.5 inches is considered to be small.

While there are hundreds of advertisements all over the internet that claim that their 'magic pill' can increase the size of the penis by as much as 4-5 inches. But the truth is that almost all of them are nothing but a farce. But worry not, since there are indeed ways to increase the penis size using diet tips and specially created exercises.

1. The Pen!s Stretching Exercise

One great tactic that can help add some inches to your penis are stretching exercises for your penis. It may sound a little odd but it really does work.

2. Avoid Fatty Foods and live an active life

Consuming foods that are high in saturated fats and calories whilst being physically inactive can cause your penis to shrink significantly. It can also lead to serious problems with your virility and lead to overall bad health.

Lack of physical activity increases cholesterol in your arteries therefore disrupting the proper circulation of blood in the penis which causes it to shrink. Choosing a healthy lifestyle can drastically help with penis size and health.

3. Kegels

Kegel exercises, much like with women, can enhance your muscles if you squeeze muscles in your penis. You can squeeze the muscles on and off, use the same muscle to end it, and begin the pee flow again. You should try for 10 sets, getting a short rest in-between sets, and aiming for twenty or thirty per set.

4. Jelqing

This exercise is very simple but effective. It will improve hardness and size of your penis.

Ensure that your penis is partially erect and use a lubricant. Hold your penis at the base with your thumb and pointer finger keeping your grip near the pelvic bone. Slowly move your hand up the penis maintaining the pressure. Stop your hand just below the head/gland.

This counts as one jelq and it should take you 2 to 3 seconds to do 1 jelq. This help in pushing the blood towards tip of the penis and will not cause any pain. Repeat the process for a few minutes and do consistently if you want to see a significant change.

5. No Smoking

Smoking is the worst enemy of your total reproductive health. Not only is smoking proven to shrink penis size, but it can also lead to a decrease in testosterone causing a lot of other hormonal imbalances that can cause shrinkage of the penis.

Tiny particles from the smoking block the arteries thus damaging the healthy flow of blood to the penis as well as to all other parts of the body.

For your penile and overall health, ensure you stop smoking NOW.

sex during zoom meeting with council
According to sources, the couple forgot to turn off the camera and jumped to their bedroom affair in the background as the meeting progressed.
As ridiculous as it sounds, the discussion on guaranteeing food for students in the municipality went on despite the scenes being relayed through the video feed.
The said meeting is reported to have started at 10.00am and ran through the next four hours.
This is according to the local media outlets.
The meeting was chaired by a member of the Socialism and Liberty Party, Leonel Brizola.
In a statement, Brizola said the episode was an “involuntary indiscretion and regretted that the actual topic of the meeting was not being highlighted in media reports.
He also added that as soon as they noticed the saucy couple, they quickly asked their technical staff to cut the segment off the feed.
“As soon as we noticed what was happening, we immediately asked the people controlling the audio and video of the participants to take it off the feed. Us councilors and other participants do not have any input in controlling or editing videos on Zoom.”
It remains unclear whether or not the member of the council was punished.

BBNaija 2020: Viewers demand justice for housemate Kaisha’s unfair eviction despite getting more votes

Viewers of ongoing Big Brother Naija Lockdown reality show has taken to social media to blast organizers of the show over this edition’s eviction process.
In previous editions, housemates usually nominate people for possible eviction. Then viewers vote housemates that should remain in the house as person with the least votes gets evicted. This edition, things turned around. All housemates, except the Head of House and Deputy, are put up for eviction. Four housemates with the least votes are then put up for finally eviction, and left for fellow housemates to determine who goes home.
Recall that housemate, Aisha Umaru, popularly known as Kaisha was evicted from the show last night. Kaisha, Trikytee, Wathoni and Neo were the housemates with least votes. The four were then put up for eviction for the night.
On the 3rd eviction night, Kaisha got more eviction nominations as 11 housemates wanted her to go home, even though the voting chart shows that she had the highest votes from viewers among the last four.
Below is how housemates voted.
Viewers are now trending #JusticeForKaisha on Twitter to protest her eviction. Some also recalled that Lilo also suffered the same fate on the first eviction show when she got more votes yet got evicted.
Aside demanding for #JusticeForKaisha, viewers are also demanding the old eviction method be brought back. But, some viewers also believe that there is no much difference between the two methods. See reactions below.

Zimbabwean Bishops Denounce Government Force

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration has come under fire over its perceived-harsh crackdown on demonstrators last month against alleged state corruption and economic hardship last month - which saw 20 citizens arrested and charged with inciting public violence arrested for partaking in the banned protests - to be later released on bail.

Abel Chikomo, Spokesperson Catholic Lawyers Guild, addressed the public, "The Pastoral letter denounced the current human rights situation in Zimbabwe and noted that the call for demonstrations is the expression of growing frustration and aggravation caused by the conditions that the majority of Zimbabweans find themselves in."

On Friday, the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference (ZCBC) publicly denounced in a letter the anti-government thwarting detentions, assaults and intimidation techniques and also weighed in on Zimbabwe's long-standing social and economic crisis, one which the government vehemently denies. The Law Society and some international organisations echoed the sentiment viewing it as a matter of human rights.
