Malawi Girl Guides Association with funding from UNFPA has set aside over 21 million Kwacha to implement a COVID 19 response programme in three districts of Dedza, Mangochi and Salima.
Project Officer of MAGGA, Tamanda Mlumbe, told ZodiaK Online Monday they have trained over 400 mother groups to produce face masks that will be distributed to girls from 170 schools in the three districts.
According to Mlumbe, this is one way of protecting the girls who can not buy masks on their own.
MAGGA will also distribute over 500 masks to Senior Chief Kachindamoto for the chiefs in the area to be using when presiding over cases.
